A wedding, a move and a marriage- oh my!

They say two of the biggest life-changing decisions you can make are:
1. Get married
2. Move to a new city.

Well, I figured, since I’m already living in a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, why not do BOTH of these big moves all at once.

Okay, that wasn’t the exact reasoning behind the latest decisions I’ve made.
But alas, I did get married AND moved to a new city- across the country- in a span of two weeks.

We had our wedding ceremony, in the midst of the ever-changing circumstances of COVID-19 in Washington DC. In August of 2021, it was all about the Delta variant. Guests were mostly family, and mostly double-vaccinated.

I’m not going to lie- it was a bummer to get hit with the mandatory mask-mandate get imposed in DC less than two weeks before the wedding, but hey, better safe than sorry, right?

And who knew, some colorful reusable face masks would essentially be great wedding favors. We opted not to have favors at first, but figured face masks are worthwhile. And guests have shared how much they still use them post wedding!

After a whirlwind of pandemic wedding planning and hosting a wedding ceremony, we said quick goodbyes to our friends, colleagues and families in metropolitan Washington DC.

Next up, a one-way flight to sunny Los Angeles. (And apartment hunting).

Today, my husband and I are relishing our time together as a married couple sharing everything from cups of Nespresso to toothpaste. We also cohabitate as “co-workers” (aka working under the same roof), and as workout buddies as we go to the gym nearly everyday, which is a new habit for me- not him (more on this next time).

For now, I will leave this post with some captures and scenes from our
I've added some captures and scenes from our wedding day below.

Some of my favorite moments were putting on my mother’s earrings and her ring in remembrance of her; the father-daughter dance which my dad nailed, even though we hardly practiced; and my first look, first dance and all the silly moments with my now husband who graciously helped me enjoy this special day.

And I’m so glad it didn’t rain.
